climate change

Climate change has already noticeably impacted the western environment. Shorter winters, earlier runoff, warmer temperatures, drying forests, and invasive species are all consequences of climate change. Communities need both to find adaptations for reacting to climate change, whether it be greater security of water supplies or dealing with more flammable forests, and to take actions to reduce their carbon footprints that contribute to climate change. Blueprints for community action have been developed and applied that offer opportunities for shared learning.
