The Hydrogen Hub Development Act is a New Mexico House bill designed to subsidize the production of hydrogen, which will profit fossil fuel and pipeline companies and derail New Mexico’s state climate objectives. Less than 1% of hydrogen produced in the U.S. is “green,” meaning produced with water and without creating new emissions fuel projects; 99% is produced using fossil fuels that leak climate-damaging methane emissions into the atmosphere.
